Use it to freeze the population in the game. Obviously, you can modify the value of the Pointer. However, never set a value equal or higher to the population limit.
If the current population is X and the limit population Y, with the format: X/Y, set always a value that:
X<Y.
If you set a value X>=Y, you cannot create new units.

NOTE: Pointer used in the Spanish version of the game. Maybe it works in the English version.
